This female rapper that is based out of Atlanta does a whole more than rapping–She’s a poet and a publisher who describes herself as a lover, fighter and artist. Boog Brown a Detroit Native has collaborated with noted hip hop artist and producers such as Illastrate, Rita J, Aarophat, Apollo Brown, Invincible, and 14KT, who describes her voice as the illest. 14 KT also states that Boog displays truth, confidence, style and a strong sense of integrity in hip hop. Boog Brown first fell in love with hip hop when she first bought Atliens by Outkast. She related to the thought process in a sense. Brown says that before she would observe it, listen a little but was too busy playing violin, and listening to old R&B and jazz that her parents had. It was the album that made her want to explore and listen.
Her album Brown Study that dropped last year is a complex mix of poetry & pride. Brown Study is a rare vintage of Hip-hop that chronicles Atlanta emcee Boog Brown‘s walk through life. Behind the boards is Detroit producer Apollo Brown (The Reset) crafting head nodding beats reminiscent of Pete Rock in his prime. Boog drops universal jewels throughout her heavily textured rap poetry. Brown Study is the soundtrack for anyone living the beautiful struggle.
