Latasha Lee was born in Corpus Christi, TX. At an early age Tasha’s mom, Michelle Herron knew she was destined to perform. Singing since the age of three, Tasha often entertained family and friends with her rendition of Stop In The Name Of Love by the Supremes. By age nine Tasha and her sister Tonya started performing at school talent shows and local community events in Corpus Christi.

The family relocated to Austin TX two years later which opened up new opportunities for Tasha. Tasha and Tonya quickly linked up with some other girls and formed the group The Homegirls and began performing at various events (Pecan Street Festival, Jump On It, The Black Expo) and venues (The Victory Grill, Luling Civic Center). One of the highlights was receiving a proclamation from the Mayor declaring it Homegirls Day for a day.

Latasha Lee, song, Get Away, is a perfect way to get the modern pop culture back to the roots of true R&B. In the video, Lee dons a look reminiscent of the Motown classics. Her hair poofed and in a glamorous ’60s inspired dress, Lee will either steal your heart with her soulful voice or with her stunning looks.

I feel this song can totally be a classic. In my opinion Latasha Lee is a singer that is accessible, human, and absolutely relate-able which is highlighted in this video. She also has me hooked by trying to popularize REAL music again.

This girl has some real natural talent, and I’m hoping the new year will bring her lots more attention. She is banging, and is just what the R&B world needs right now!

Some of you may know him because he is also half of the award winning duo Frontline, who were the recipients of the New Zealand Music Awards Best Hip Hop Album award in 2006 for their album Borrowed Time. He also received the 2003 NZ Music Awards Songwriter of the Year award for his contribution to Scribe’s Not Many: The Remix! alongside Scribe, P-Money and Savage.

Released  independently by Lord’s Curly Locks Entertainment, LLC, Party On The Moon, is receiving regular radio airplay nationwide. Lord is a nominee for Best Pop Artist, for the All Indie Music Awards, at which he will perform, to be held on February 10, 2012 at the Key Club in Hollywood.

Rocky Diamonds began rapping for the last 4 years or so and began producing as well .  When he started posting videos on YouTube and they became viral, the teenager began which immediately began attracting new fans and music listeners all over the globe. With an estimated 3 million myspace plays, 100K+ fans via myspace, facebook & twitter there is no question that he will definitely be one to watch out for the rap game.

Definitely don’t sleep on this youngin. He’s bringing fire to the game right now, and if you haven’t listened to the mixtape I suggest after reading this you listen to it in it’s entirety. “Driving Wit Our Eyes Closed” is my favorite, and I can definitely tell that Rocky Diamonds is a rather mature 19 year old with a good head on his shoulders and knows a thing or two about life.

The young artist wants to work with artists such as  Hov, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Chris Brown, and Kanye West just to name a few. His main goal in the hip-hop world is to make good music, and show the kids back in his hometown that you can really use music to get out the ghetto, and I think he’s off to a great start!

Heavy D was a rap artist, producer, singer, and the front man in the late 80′s group Heavy D & the Boyz.  The group was the first to sign to Uptown Records and their debut album Livin Large was a huge commercial success.  Between 1987 and 1994, Heavy D & The Boyz worked with the likes of Notorious B.I.G., DJ Premier, Marley Marl and longtime affiliate and fellow Mount Vernon native Pete Rock.  The group sang the theme song for Fox’s hit TV show In Living Color as well as performed on the show as musical guests.

As an actor Heavy D appeared on popular 90′s TV show’s like A Different World, Living Single, and in movies such as Life, Step it Up, and New Jersey Drive. Recently he has appeared in TV shows such as Bones, and  Law & Order Special Victim’s Unit which I saw just a couple of weeks ago.

As a solo artist, Heavy D remained close with Uptown Records executive Sean “Diddy” Combs and the mogul’s Bad Boy Records imprint, despite never releasing a Bad Boy album. Recently, Heavy D released Grammy-nominated Reggae album Vibes on the Stride label in 2008. Previously, D had released Waterbed Hev in 1997 and a self-titled 1999 album.

Tom P is a 26 year old rapper who has been rapping since the age of 11.  He was adopted by his aunt and uncle; a preacher and a music teacher who raised him in Atlanta.  Tom P grew up in the inner city amongst a diverse range of people and was introduced to all kinds of music at a very young age.  Amongst the various musical genres his favorite was hip-hop.  He began writing at the tender age of 11 when we became inspired by emerging southern rap artists such as Goodie Mob and Outkast.  He was also inspired by greats such as Biggie, Tupac, and Scarface.  The youngster also started recording himself  using a tape recorder.  He  worked vigorously at crafting his skills with the goal of being a great artist in his own right.

In these last couple of years Tom P has been catching the attention of people from all over.  He has been written up in many publications such as XXL Magazine,  and has also performed at shows and toured with artists such as Tekn9ne, Three 6 Mafia, Bone Thugs N Harmony, and Gorilla Zoe just to name a few.

Tom P wins over his crowds with his lyrical skill and back story.  I feel Tom P definitely has the talent to go far in the rap game if he keeps on working and honing his skills like he has been there is no goal that he can’t reach. In my  opinion  Tom P is on the verge of blowing up, and I can’t wait until he drops something new.
