Chris Brown has dominated headlines and captured the hearts of many. A recipient of multiple
awards and twelve Grammy nominations, the star has been known to get himself into trouble,
especially with the ladies. A series of crazy groupie stories have been floating around for quite
some time. A list from BallerAlert (http://www.balleralert.com/profiles/blogs/groupie-tales- chris-
brown-the- sex-demon) has done us the favor of compiling a surprising list of groupie stories.
One story claims that the star had his assistant ask for her phone number. Another woman tells
the story about her late night stalking session with her friends. Women go as far as to gossip
about their sexual intimacy and about the moments leading into it. By the sound of it, Chris
Brown is the regular ladies’ man. Although they cannot confirm the accuracy of the stories, it
makes for an entertaining read. He was discovered at an early age and quickly rose to the top of
the charts. He’s been arrested on multiple accounts and is the father of Royalty. Within the past
couple of years, this R&B, hip-hop, heartthrob, has proved to be a true Hollywood cliché.
Chris Brown was born in Tappahannock, Virginia, a small town with a population of roughly
2,000 people. He began performing at an early age in a church/local choir group, after being
influenced by his parent’s collection of musical favorites, which included legend Michael
Jackson. He also starred in an Elvis-inspired school play titled “Elfis”. As his voice developed,
he made the transition from MC’ing to singing hip-hop and dropped out of high school to pursue
a career in music.
Brown was later discovered by a Def Jam executive, Tina Davis, who first noticed his “unique
voice.” She would later become his manager, signing him to Jive Records, the powerhouse
representing up and coming talents such as Britney Spears and N’Sync. At only 15 years of
age, Chris Brown was under the same music label as R. Kelly and Usher, one of his dancing
idols.
Chris Brown proved to be a tremendous discovery for Davis. Chris Brown hit NO. 1 with his
debut single, “Run It!”, co-written by two established producers, Scott Storch and Sean Garrett.
With later hits such as “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” and “Gimme That” (also written by Storch and
Garrett), Chris Brown began to expand his listener base, often being compared to Michael
Jackson for his dual singing and dancing talents. He went on to receive several awards,
including a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding New Artist, a Teen Choice Award for Choice
Music Breakout Artist Male, and two Grammy nominations.
Brown made his big screen debut in 2007 after his Up Close and Personal tour in 2006. Fans
got a taste of his acting abilities in the films, “Stomp the Yard” and “This Christmas”. He even
enjoyed the small screen in a recurring role in The O.C. as a high school band geek. In an
interview to promote the show, Brown expressed that music was his passion, but that the acting
is something he loved (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHAsch0j-HM). Towards the end of
2007, Brown released his second album, Exclusive, working with T-Pain, Sean Garrett,
Will.i.am, and Tank. In 2010, he starred in and produced “Takers”, a crime thriller film.
Brown’s career took a turn when acquisitions of an assault on, then, girlfriend Rihanna made
headlines in February of 2009. In a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer Rihanna expressed,
"The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other, equally as
dangerous." Brown pleaded guilty and was issued a 5-year probation and was ordered to stay
away from Rihanna.
In 2011, he began dating Karrueche Tientrese Tran, an actress and model, but the relationship
soon ended in 2012. Tran was left heartbroken after finding out through TMZ that he had
fathered a child with another woman. Tran tweeted: “No baby drama for me” but wished Chris
and his family luck.
Between 2012 and 2013, Brown had been involved in a series of legal disputes, many of which
were because of altercations and assaults. In 2013, Chris Brown and his bodyguard were
arrested for assaulting an unknown man outside a Washington D.C. Hotel. Celebrity Gossip and
Entertainment News source, TMZ, later reported the case settled for over 100k; however, he
was sentenced to periods of rehabilitation and jail time for his previous felonies.
In May of 2013, Chris Brown had gotten together and broken off his second relationship with
Rihanna again. An insider from E! News confirmed, “Rihanna will always love Brown, but she
wants to focus on her career right now.” Regardless, it was no secret that Brown’s relationship
with Rihanna had been on and off for quite some time, and media reports continued to report on
Chris Brown’s side relationships with other women.
In 2015, it was confirmed by Brown via his Instagram account that he was the father to
“Royalty,” a baby girl that was conceived during a relationship with model and nursing student
Nia Guzman, reported by PerezHilton.com. He has been appointed joint custody of Royalty
with Nia. Inquisitr recently caught up with Nia to discuss their relationship with Royalty and
admitted that Chris Brown’s relationship with Nia has been “intimate”. They’re in constant
communication with each other and prove to be attached. Nia and Chris’ relationship has also
been gradually improving after legal arguments concerning an increase in child support went to
court.
Recently, XXL Magazine has tweeted that Brown is, yet again, being sued by another victim,
Mike G. The former manager of Brown is seeking compensation for being physically abused by
the artist following multiple disagreements. Since the news, Nia is deciding to petition for full
custody, claiming that recent allegations are proof that continuing joint custody would be
dangerous for their daughter.
Chris Brown continues to be the center of conversation between many. He has had on and off
relationships with numerous women, multiple run-ins with law enforcement, dealt with groupies
and stalkers but has been successful nonetheless. His albums and music videos have won
numerous awards and has been recognized as Top Male Artist multiple times by Billboard.
Recently, he has been awarded R&B Artist of the Year at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. It
must be hard being a celebrity, but it must be harder being Chris Brown.
