I am totally hyped to be able to share this with all of our readers–Frank Ocean‘s new video for his track Thinking About You. This video is crazy ill, and its definitely like nothing I’ve ever seen before. This kid and the talented video makers over at High 5 Collective has definitely pushed the envelope again with this one, and I’m loving it. If you haven’t seen some of High 5 Collective’s work you should definitely check out of some of their other videos after peeping this out. They’ve had done some for Jay Z and Kanye on their collaborative Album “Watch the Throne”
This video is packing it all. I was very engaged by the visual features of lights falling from the sky, and with the painted up cult like leaders who looked like they escaped from a horror flick. With all of that and the blending of the injured and the ignorance this makes for a not so typical R&B video which is fitting for Frank Ocean since he’s not your typical R&B singer.
The symbolism in this video redefines the word Forever, and you really need to check it out for yourself to see what I mean. You may have to watch the video twice because after the first time you may be left thinking What the hell is this, but I’m telling you the video brings this song to an entirely new level and really makes you think about not only love lasting a lifetime, but even beyond that.
