TMZ was the first to break the story this weekend that on October 31st Kim Kardashian would be filing for divorce even before Ryan Seacrest, who produces Kim’s shows on the network, confirmed it. This is the second marriage for Kim, who was married to music producer Damon Thomas; the two of them called it quits and divorced in 2004. Ever since then the reality TV star has been romantically linked to Ray J (with whom she appeared in a very public sex tape), football player Reggie Bush, football player Miles Austin and Halle Berry’s ex, model Gabriel Aubry.
Kim and Kris were married for a mere 72 days before she filed for divorce, and according to reports she cited that the divorce was due to irreconcilable differences. The court papers that has been released online states that Kardashian also requested that the court uphold the prenuptial agreement the two signed before the wedding.
Kim released a statement to E! News about the divorce and had this to say I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned, the statement read in part. We remain friends and wish each other the best.
The premiere of part one of Kim’s Fairytale Wedding attracted 4.4 million viewers on Oct. 9, and part two the next day attracted almost 4 million. Each part was two hours long. In the two weeks that followed, E! repeated part one 11 times, and part two 16 times. On average, around 900,000 viewers watched each telecast of the wedding special those two weeks. The repeats are scheduled to continue every day this week, though an E! spokeswoman said the schedule is subject to change.
I wonder if they are going to continue to air the wedding. Kim Kardashian really doesn’t even have a say in what the network can or can not do, because E! actually bought the rights to their wedding footage for a reported $15 Million. It’s being said that Kim will definitely come out of this with a nice chunk of change.
