Leak of Tha Carter IV

Posted August 25, 2011 by Bryant Morris in Music

Lil Wayne

Yesterday a leak of Lil Wayne’s  Tha Carter IV hit the Internet before it’s official August 29th release date at midnight after the MTV Video Music Awards.  I personally have to say I’m digging everything that I’ve heard so far, but from what I’ve been reading on Twitter not everyone feels the same.

Some people think that’s it ok, but not as great as his previous albums, and some people say it doesn’t hold a candle to Kanye and Jay Z’s What The Throne album.  Many  people on twitter are saying that he leaked his own album and he’s worried about record sales. Regardless, Lil Wayne definitely has everyone buzzing about Tha Carter IV.

At one point I couldn’t even get on Twitter because it was over capacity.  Also the release of the anticipated album has been a huge topic on the network tonight. On the Lil  Wayne fan site I’ve been following tonight there has been at least 25 new tweets every thirty seconds.

Here is what a couple of people Tweeted about Tha Carter IV

“Carter IV is very descent, but doesn’t come close to Tha Carter II,” tweeted fan @JCorerra10 while a reluctant but slowly accepting @Qadeem_Ali added, “Tha Carter IV is growing on me more and more. #WeezyAfterEffects.”  Up bumping Carter IV, I can’t believe I’m a Lil Wayne Fan Again just tweeted me this as I’m sitting here writing this post.

Check out some of the songs here.

It’s Good featuring Drake and Jadakiss.  Weezy’s verses has been speculated to be directly aimed at Jay Z and Beyone , in reply to the perceived dis line that Jay spits on the What The Throne debut track HAM.

How to hate featuring T-Pain

Mirror featuring Bruno Mars

Outro featuring Bun B, Nas, Busta Rhymes and Shyne

Let us know what you think!

With the leak, do you think fans will still shell out the dollars for the album?
