Metermaids: The Next Simon and Garfunkle of Rap?
This duo from Brooklyn, NY has dubbed themselves the next Simon & Garfunkle..of rap. In a very short time Swell and Sentence gained the attention of hip-hop heavy weights that includes 9th Wonder who invited the crew down to North Carolina to record their EP Roof Shake.
Through many New York performances and self promotions Metermaids have definitely been getting a lot of love. Hip-hop fans have quickly discovered that wherever the Metermaids are–that’s where the party is at. Their musical style reminds me that of the Beastie Boys and they definitely have a lot to offer to the rap game.
Their biggest goal is have fun making with their friends, and it’s apparent from the footage I’ve seen of them performing that Metermaids are well on their way! You can follow them at metermaidsnyc.com
