Funny not only on stage, but in person is the best way I know how to describe Baron Vaughn whom I had the pleasure attending High School at the Las Vegas Academy for Performing Arts in Las Vegas, NV.
He started doing stand-up in Boston Mass, and then made the move to NY where he does stand up at various comedy clubs and alternative comedy venues. Baron has performed at a number of comedy festivals including Aspen, D.C., and South Beach. He also toured as part of the American Eagle Campus Comedy Challenge tour, and has appeared as a commentator on numerous shows on MTV and VH1 like I Love The 80’s. Vaughn was also featured as a comedian on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham, and Russell Simmons Presents “Live at the EL REY.
Not only is he is a comedian, but a trained actor as well and has had supporting roles in a number of feature films, including Cloverfield, Black Dynamite, and The Other Guys. He has also performed on stage in Damn Yankees at the NY City Center with Jane Krakowski and Sean Hayes.
He recently recorded his debut stand-up comedy album in front of a live audience at the UCB theater in California, and can be seen on USA Network’s Fairly Legal, on which he plays legal assistant Leonardo Prince.
Baron is on fire now, and will be one to watch out for in 2012. Definitely catch his show if he comes to your city or town, but for now check out this little clip.
